Summer Time and the Livin's Easy..

Actually, more like the livin's BUSY.

Another summer is winding down and this was definitely the most event filled one to date; all for different reasons then what used to be.

Business has been great and we are expanding in many different ways. The embroidery machine is hammering away in my ear as I type this blog. Last week I spent some time planning and plotting my next moves with my ebay store. There are also some upcoming events like Pirate's Day and Kidstock that we will be set up at selling tees and doing live tie dying and screen printing.

Most importantly of all, on June 24th we found out that Carolyn is pregnant. I'm gonna be a dad...It's crazy.

We are both very excited and nervous and scared all at the same time. It's gonna be great though. Neither of us can wait to find out if it's a boy or a girl. We have about 4 weeks till we find out. I'm sure the next update will come sometime around then.

The picture above was from the Graffiti Jam at Terracycle in Trenton. Photo credit goes to my lovely baby-mamma Carolyn :) The event was really cool. I'm hoping that when my car is done I can get back there and do a photo shoot this fall. It's the perfect spot.

More to come..

Calm Before the Storm

I have a feeling that this is going to be a crazy month. A lot of things are in the works right now as far as business is concerned. All good things. There is also my birthday coupled with the ISS show in Atlantic City, and a crazy cross country trip towards the end of the month.

Should be interesting..

Valentines Day

Had a great day this February 14th. Started out by taking a ride up to Barnes & Noble in Bricktown. They don't have much of a sitting area but we made due on a bench near the magazines. I looked through an older book about low-light photography, Carolyn read up on some t-shirt sewing techniques. I bought a couple of magazines on the way out, one being my first issue of PVW (Performance Volkswagen) @ $10.50 an issue (ouch!). I haven't read through it yet, but the 3 Corrados featured make me feel like it was somewhat worth the money.

Below is a picture taken after we left the bookstore. This is the hockey rink from the 1997 Kevin Smith movie "Chasing Amy". I played a few seasons of ice hockey here when I was younger, so seeing it brought back some memories..

Then we got back on the road and headed to Seaside Heights. Now, normally I stay far away from "Sleaside" (LBI till I die), but since it's winter and we just got dumped on by Snowpocalipse 2010, I figured I'd give it a chance. The lighting was awesome and we both got some great pictures which is what we set out to do. Here's one of Carolyn in front of the store where some of the cast of MTV's "Jersey Shore" worked at (at least we think it is)..

Here's some creepy clowns..

And here's my favorite from the day..

Then we headed straight to Daddy O's on Long Beach Island. We put back a few Kettle & Tonics and ordered a bunch of stuff from their bar menu (great as always). After a memorable day and delicious dinner, we headed back home and called it a night. (I may have squeezed in a little bit of work at the end)

All and all, our Valentines Day extravaganza was a day to remember. We vowed to have more days like this with no occasion involved. We also decided that we will be road tripping to Texas and Arizona at the end of March. Can't wait!

Lots to see and lots to do.. and I couldn't ask for a better partner in crime :)

Embroidery Machine

Me and Carolyn are officially in the embroidery business! Well...ready to be at least. I got the feel for the machine last night and did some logos on the back of some Flexfit hats I had laying around. I'll be working on the fronts next time I'm over there. We still need to learn how to digitize the artwork but for now, we can just send it out.

It's a Toyota 820 ESP. The PC that runs it is a dinosaur. It came with Windows 95 originally, but was upgraded to 2000 at some point. The one plus is that there is a full (but very old) version of Wilcom on it. Hopefully I can figure out how to use it.

First Post

Welcome to the Lucid Graphics blog. I will blogging about things that I do on the day to day. There will mainly be posts about photography, graphic design, clothing design, screen printing, sticker production with some sprinkles of skate, surf, cars and all around fun and interesting things. Hopefully this will motivate me to document all of the DIY projects that I tend to take on as well.

You can support a starving artist (me) by purchasing a decal or two on my ebay store located here

Or if you would like a custom quote for anything I do please email me at LucidGraphics@gmail.com
